Green coffee beans are washed and pre-soaked using only water, which hydrates them and
prepares for the extraction of caffeine.
The delicate process of removing caffeine begins by using an extract of green coffee (ECV) and an exclusive
carbon filter system. ECV is supersaturated water with the soluble components of coffee with the exception of
caffeine. The grains are kept in extraction tanks where the ECV flows over them. Looking for balance
the caffeine begins to pass from the coffee beans to the ECV.
Meticulously controlling time, temperature and flow it is capable to optimize the driving force that
removes caffeine from green coffee and transfers it to ECV. The result is a net extraction process by which
only the caffeine is eliminated, leaving intact the flavor characteristics of the coffee according to its origin.
The ECV, which is now saturated caffeinated, flows into the carbon filters, which only they catch the caffeine.
This is a continuous process in which the ECV circulates again from The filters of coal at columns of
extraction until the coffee beans are 99.9% caffeine free. This process takes approximately
between 8 and 10 hours.
When the coal is completely saturated with caffeine, it is transferred to a coal regeneration furnace where
the caffeine is burned.
