The History of the Eguía

In 1896, the Eguía family created a small grocery store in Tolosa (Guipúzcoa), making candles, chocolates and roasting coffee. From the beginning, they focused on top quality products, which gave rise to the “Casa Eguía” Blend.

In 1936, one of the sons moved to Eduardo Dato Street in Vitoria-Gasteiz (Spain), starting a business in this city dedicated solely to roasting coffee.

During the post-war years, due to the shortage of supplies, they began to produce dried fruits, which is currently another part of the business.

Today, it is run by one of his sons and two grandsons, representing the 4th generation that continues in the exciting world of coffee. From the old, completely manual production process, we have moved on to a completely mechanized process, but always trying to take the utmost care of the final quality of the product.

In 1992 we started marketing teas, and just like with coffee, we have specialised in the best quality teas from different countries around the world. We import, mix and flavour all kinds of teas and infusions. We package them in bulk in different types of packages and in Pyramid-type tea bags with or without sachets.

In 1999, we opened a coffee and tea tasting session so that people could enjoy all these products that are very difficult to find in the hospitality industry.

The good work carried out over the years is being demanded by other cities so that they can also enjoy this great selection of products.
